The Neighborhood in 1975
Thanks to the Chicago History Museum Archives and their extensive archive organized by each city block, they fortunately had a stack of pristine darkroom prints we were able to get scanned for the project. This set of images were all taken in April of 1975 on Augusta BLVD and Division Street. This set felt important to include in the Long Live Lafayette archives as it captures the street that Lafayette was(is) on and the most notable street in the neighborhood home to many family businesses to this day – Division Street. Take a walk down Division and Augusta as if it were 1975 as you go through these images and see how the neighborhood has changed in many ways but still has stayed the same simultaneously.
